Vaillant – green approach (www.vaillant.co.uk)

March 2nd, 2010 Blog

Here at What Do I Do With This, we’re very interested in renewable energy, reducing our carbon footprint and generally trying to be environmentally-friendly.

We spotted the Vaillant ads on TV recently, and rather liked them: “Vaillant thinks ahead” is the company slogan, and seems to be quite fitting. They produce a range of high-efficiency boilers, solar water heaters and other advanced products aimed at helping you, the homeowner, become greener.

This kind of overt advertising can only be a good thing for helping raise awareness of the carbon footprint issue and – more importantly – helping save you money in the long run by being more efficient.

The Vaillant site has linked out to the Low Carbon Buildings Programme website (www.lowcarbonbuildings.org.uk), which features a lot of information regarding grants for your home (for more efficient power tech) and info about microgeneration technologies (small wind turbines in your garden, for example).

We’re particularly interested because there’s a section on how the government can help fund your more-efficient under-floor heating – which is something we’ve wanted for years now!

Definitely worth a read.
